YOUTH NEW BEGINNINGS

Every Saturda y evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. the lights go on and the activity level picks up as several community youth turn the small park model (located at Absmier Landscaping on Hwy 149) into their OWN SPACE!!

Jennifer Talbot, part-time youth director, leads the youth in fun activities, followed by discussions of faith issues.

The youth attending are in grades six (6) through nine (9) and attend school in both Creede and Del Norte. Volunteers are transporting youth as well as furnishing freshly baked cookies (A REAL HIT!!).

Adult leadership has come from Pastor Derrick, Ed Churchman, Mel and Virginia Semrad. Wayne Odom, along with others mentioned, has transported youth; Sally and Phil Towns will be assisting during March. Thanks goes to Roy Snyder for the loan of a microwave…so important for making that POPCORN!!

SUNDAY SCHOOL 4 U

Illness, bad weather, and all those cold winter issues have affected the attendance of children at Sunday School; yet every Sunday there are some children present at church. Those leading the classes remain flexible to be able to lead whatever age is present on that Sunday.

The materials used, EXPLORING FAITH, are a good fit for our one-room Sunday School, and are easily adapted to whatever age is present. Thanks to the following who are such willing volunteers: Sally Towns, Kris Herbon, Ethel Chapman. The list is short, so there’s room for you. CAN YOU GIVE TWO SUNDAYS in succession to help our children learn about the wide, wonderful love of our GOD? If so, contact Pastor Derrick or Virginia Semrad.

Adult Lenten Bible Series

Three wonderful session still remain for the Adult Lenten Bible Series. The discussions have been enlightening; in addition learnin from Pastor Derrick as he leads the group is a bonus for being present.

A light meal begins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, followed by the study at 6:00 p.m. Please join in, even if you have not been able to attend thus far. Some come for the study only. Do whatever fits best for your schedule…but
